Gail's Quilts & Things

A Bit About Me

Hi my name Gail Schwesinger. I have always had a passion for sewing and hand embroidery. I started making my own clothes many years ago (to many to count). I was blessed with two daughters and made a lot of Gunny Sack dresses. For those of you that may not remember what those are, many ruffles and lace, but a lot of fun to make. Like many teen age girls my daughters eventually grew out of "home made" clothes.

About that time I discovered quilting. I started teaching myself how to piece and over the years amassed a large collection of unfinished quilt tops. I really didn't want someone else to quilt my tops, I wanted them to be 100% mine. I purchased a mid-arm machine hoping to finish that large collection of tops and quickly discovered that I just didn't have the room to do what I wanted to do. In 2008 I finally sold that mid-arm machine and purchased an American Professional Quilting System (APQS). My "Millie" is a stitch regulated, hand guided machine with a 12 foot table. The table gives me the ability to quilt tops up to 120" wide. I find it very fulfilling to watch a quilt come to life as I quilt it.

As another creative outlet I love to make bags, purses, wallets, and table runners. You can view a collection of those in the gallery as well as some of my quilts. I can make any of these to order. Give me a call if you are interested.

I would be honored to also give your tops a life. To make them the beautiful treasures they really are.
